❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: I’m getting a 401 Unauthorized or “Invalid API Key” error. What should I do?
A: Make sure you copied the API key correctly. Sometimes, when pasting the key from a browser, an extra character or space is added at the end. Double-check and remove any extra character from the key field in Unity.
Q: Where do I get a Freesound.org API key?
A: You can request a free API key by registering at freesound.org. Once approved, copy your key and paste it into the FreesoundHub settings in Unity.
Q: Can I change the download folder?
A: Yes. Open the Settings window in FreesoundHub and choose your preferred folder. Make sure it is inside the Assets/ directory so Unity can recognize the audio files.
Q: Why is the sound not playing inside the preview?
A: Unity requires EditorCoroutines for preview functionality. Please make sure the Editor Coroutines package is installed from the Unity Package Manager.
Q: Is FreesoundHub compatible with Unity 6 or 2022.x?
A: Yes, FreesoundHub is compatible with Unity 2022 and Unity 6. However, make sure to install all required dependencies (like Editor Coroutines) for proper functionality.
