Lobby Creation and Management — Group users into lobbies with support for text and voice chat.
Cross-Platform Voice & Text — Communicate across platforms and even with users not currently in your game.
Discord Guild Channel Linking — Lobbies can be connected directly to channels in your Discord server.
Friends & Rich Presence — Access friend lists, presence information, avatar images, and display names.
Robust, Extensible Toolkit — Built with Unity devs in mind, our toolkit wraps Discord’s SDK in familiar, component-driven patterns and builds production-ready tools and systems on that.
???? To use Discord’s Social SDK, you must be registered as a Discord developer. Registration is currently free via Discord’s developer portal. We provide guidance, but have no control over this process.
???? About the Preview Status
Both the Discord Social SDK and this toolkit are in preview. That means:
Expect frequent updates and feature expansions.
Some changes may introduce breaking changes—our knowledge base and Discord server provide excellent support to help you manage updates.
Once the SDK reaches v1.0, this asset will transition from “Preview” to standard versioning.
