PlanetGen is a small yet powerful toolset for procedural planet creation.
With PlanetGen, you can easily make almost photorealistic, beautiful planets within a few clicks!

Features:

– Equirectangular projected heightmap generation based on random fractal noise.
– Standard Planet shaders for surface rendering
– Planet clouds, rim, and halo effects
– Set surface colors right inside the shader, no colormaps needed, no photo editing skills required
– Single Planet mesh and Planet LOD Group included
– Example scenes

PlanetGen generate cylindrical heightmaps using random fractal noise.The generated heightmap is used by a custom PG Planet shader. Colors, bumps, water specular mask calculated inside the shader. The heightmaps are temporary only, no texture asset need to be saved. Texture generation works both in editor and runtime. Currently a solid planet heightmap generator available in the package.

Please note, planet texture generation only works in default rendering pipeline, scriptable rendering pipelines like URP or HDRP not supported yet.
