Description
A Highly flexible VFX Asset can be used in many scenarios, from Action VFX to Environmental Design. The included effects are 100% perfectly scalable. Unity native GPU-based Visual Effects Graph provides great performance.

How it works:

After drag-and-dropping the VFX Prefab into your Scene, you need to add Renderers to an array inside the Prefab parameters. Only these renderers will contribute to the custom Depth Texture and be used for the VFX. This process may be inconvenient if you have a very large amount of meshes, in which case, it is better to use a custom script to populate the array.

Descriptions of two main VFX styles:

– Heat Wave can be used in many scenarios. The presets can be adjusted to imitate fire, smoke, or a flow of magical energy. The reactive mesh can be invisible, and the effect will still be visible, making it possible to make action-based VFX.

– Holo Scan and Holo Static are more suited for sci-fi hologram-like effects. Static mode for displaying items on a holographic screen, and scan mode for recreation surface of a terrain or cave. There are examples of how to use it in the included DemoScene_UseCases.

– Easy setup, drag and drop, plus assign some parameters and variables

– Shaders made with Shader Graph, so they are fully editable

– Wide range of use cases, from action-based to environmental

– 3 Interactive Demo Scenes

Technical details
Compatibility:

– Asset works perfectly fine on PC with URP or HDRP pipelines

– According to Unity Visual Effects Graph Roadmap, URP Mobile support is Planned, so compute-capable mobile devices will be supported too in the future.

– Works with Perspective, and Orthographics (and 2D) Cameras with no issues.

Technical information:

– Total of 20 Unique VFX Prefabs

– Maximum texture resolution is 2048×2048

– 4 Distincts Visual Effects Graphs, used to build the effects

– 5 Custom Shaders used in these VFX Graphs

– Effects are built with Unity native Visual Effects Graph System (GPU Simulated Particles)

– Promotion Video was recorded on the URP pipeline, Linear Color Space, using only regular Post Processing Effects.

– Interactive Demo Scenes for each pipeline are included

– Regular Mesh Renderers are supported.

– Skinned Mesh Renderers are supported too with minor limitations. If you want to hide your Skinned Mesh and still see the Effect, you need to use included invisible material on it. There is an example in DemoScene_UseCases.
